SPECIES: Ptilotus pyramidatus — Pyramid Mulla-mulla
CLASSIFICATION: Critically endangered
It's now down to a population known at just one location, in Perth, Western Australia. We're talking about the critically endangered Pyramid Mulla-mulla. Pyramid Mulla-mulla is small plant, which grows only to around 5cm high. It's white to greyish in colour - and hairy - and found growing in patchy, open scrub habitat. On the brink of extinction from the threats of land clearing, invasive plants, off-road vehicles and habitat degradation caused by rabbits to name but a few.
