SPECIES:
Dibbler (Parantechinus apicalis)
CLASSIFICATION:
Endangered
The Dibbler, a small nocturnal marsupial, has already dodged the extinction bullet once.
In the late 60's, the species was rediscovered, after being presumed extinct. Numbers aren't great still, less than 1000 Dibblers remain in the wild. Interesting features of the Dibbler include white fur around its eyes and large canine teeth! Threats to the species include feral predators and destruction of habitat due to fire.
