Happy. No, Unhappy Threatened Species Day. To the 1700+ species that make THE LIST, updated by the Australian Government and in accordance with the EPBC Act. A species under threat can be categorised on a varying scale, from Vulnerable all the way up to Critically Endangered.
The only way past this is extinction.
Lost forever.
What is evident, is there are so many species - not just cute animals - but fish, frogs, snails, butterflies, sharks, birds, plants as well as mammals - that are under threat. Many too, have no recovery plan in place, noone to 'bat for the battler'.
